Ok, I've finally gotten all the pictures uploaded and I can write about it now!!!
We started out with a picture of all the pumpkins on the front porch, and good thing we did b/c mom's didn't make it past that. I got it inside and it had rotten all through the back, so in the trash it went. We started carving our pumpkins before dad got home, but I quickly gave him the job of the "Beak-em" cut out and I'd do Kaden's ghost! Kaden didn't really like the ewy gewy part of the pumpkin, just thought it was funny. He helped for a quick second, and then was off playing. As he requested though, he got a ghost on his little pumpkin, eventually....it started out with me drawing all the cutouts and while I was cutting Kaden's out, we stopped and went to put jammies on. While doing that, my mom thought she'd help out(side note: she NEVER cut our pumpkins even when we were little, she did the cleaning out and making pumpkin seeds)ok, so I got back down and she said "well I thought I'd help, but I'm not sure this is right" and the little ghost's eyes were completely out!!! I just laughed and said, well mom, the way I was doing it, I NEED the eyes and mouth, otherwise it's gonna be a big hole! So we laughed, she felt horrible, but we went on, by turning the pumpkin to the side and starting over. It all turned out ok, just funny! Steph didn't know what to do, and I drew the Adidas logo since she is now the rep for them and thought she could put it in her office, it turned out pretty good too!

So Friday, we headed up to KU to do trick-or-treating with the different departments. We've gone up now for the last 3 years and I think Kaden finally gets it. We saw our friends Kenzie and Kemper(little bo peep and the lost sheep) so he was pumped to see his little girlfriend. We paraded through the bball office to see the coaches and then stopped by Mr. Perkins office to say hello. Then downstairs we went to the tables of different departments and all their candy!!! Kaden had a good time.
(here is some "hot babes" but he was to shy to get his picture specifically with the cheerleaders!)

Sat, Halloween night, we got all ready and headed to see GG and Papa like we do every year. We strolled up to the house and Kaden was excited to see them. He got hugs and kisses like always and even got some Pumpkin cookies for his bag! While we were there Unlce Brett came over and then we started in with our cool song we know and still sing today. He thinks he's so funny, and it is, and I will have to say....I was the one who taught him(oops). Attached is the video and you kinda miss out on the beginning, but hopefully you can hear it all. Funny guy!

("Trick or Treat, smell my feet, give me something good to eat, if you don't, I don't care...I'll pull down your underwear!")
After GG and Papa's we all headed downtown to do a little trick-or-treating on Mass. Street. I've always heard it's a pretty good thing, so we decided to try it this year and also Unlce Neal was down there as a Bear handing out candy. We got down there, Kaden was pumped, I explained Neal would look like a silly bear and as soon as we got to him, Kaden FREAKED out!! He started crying, didn't want to see him, didn't want anything to do with him, so we went inside the store and Neal took his head off and showed him it was him, and Kaden finally calmed down. Poor little buddy, just doesnt quite get it yet. But we recovered and continued on a few blocks and decided to head out.

We then started heading to a couple friends house before we got home. We saw Hal Crady, the Keefers(our good buddies Raelynn and Cooper(batwoman and batman)), went to MaryBeth's(our FAVORITE daycare provider!)and even got to take a picture with Pat's old firehydrant (Pat's a fire fighter so Kaden LOVES that!) We went to Coaches house and saw Miss Cindy and then headed home to meet dad for a little neighborhood trick-or-treating. Brett was excited to see him and we walked him around for a bit. He kept wanting to go to another house after he continued to see all the good stuff he got in his baggie. Then we finished with a picture with our corner fire hydrant! We got done with that and Brett and I started to get ready for our Halloween party at coaches and Kaden got to hang out with Granny. He definately had a fun filled afternoon/night and was pooped at the end. He actually didn't eat all that much candy either, which seems to be going in my belly and not his, whoops! Overall we had a GREAT Halloween and it'll be exciting to do it all again next year with 2!!!!

Sorry, had to add this in before my post on our pumpkin carving b/c I just ran across this picture. I was looking for it on my earlier post when I had him year to year at the pumpkin patch height check, so here he is the VERY 1st time we went out to Schaake's pumpkin patch (plus a few more, what a chunkster!!).....

The carving pictures are my next post, and then Halloween picts. Stay tuned!!!

7 mths prego
Here are the 7 mths prego pictures. I am now 7 1/2, still running, and thinking this is my last week. Since it's my last week with cross country anyways, and I know I won't be as motivated since I won't have practice, it might be my slow down. I still have good days running, but days like today, my legs are as heavy as lead and I have to pee every step of the way!!! I thought maybe I could make it to 8 mths, but since I stopped at 6mths with Kaden, I guess I'm doing alright. We'll see how it goes. Anyways, baby is moving A LOT and everything else is good.

Take care!!!

Why are you so hungry??
So today is my day to go to school, so I drop Kaden off for ALL day at Mary Beth's, and he LOVES Tues/Thurs for that reason. So I get him situated, take off for the highway and off to school. School went fine, got back for practice and it went well, and was off to get Kaden (it's my favorite part since I don't see him all day).
So I am early, which is amazing and he comes running. We go home, get in the running stroller and head out for our 3 mile run. Let me tell you I haven't pushed him in the running stroller since this summer when I wasn't as prego, little harder now. But we got it done, even with the rain all of a sudden drizzling down on us.
Got home, switched clothes to get out of wet, and we both started in with stuff to get around.
We fed the dogs(he loves helping pour their food),he helped me squish all these bugs that suddenly appeared around the garage and front porch, and then headed back in to start dinner.
Kaden was being such a great helper tonight it just made me smile and laugh. He let the dogs in and out, kept Jack from being right underneath me...aka guided him to another spot and kept telling him to "sit down Jack, just sit down buddy" until he did.
Then I hear a chair being dragged over towards me. He wanted to help with dinner. We were having spaghetti, so he ran the water in the pot for noodles and then got a spoon out to help separate the meat in the other dish. He quickly got tired of helping, but once again amazed me that he even wanted to. So I got the stuff all ready and then we started playing our nightly routine of football in the living room while it was still cooking and we were waiting on dad to get home.
Brett showed up and we went on with dinner....after he was done with his meal, he sat there and talked a little and Brett and I were still eating. I went up for some more and as I was dishing it out I hear..."You're eating again mommy!!", "why are you so hungry?" I turned around, and felt pretty guilty and Brett and I both just started laughing. He said, "what's so funny guys?" . I mean i guess piggy piggy here just wasn't full yet. So I told him I guess I am just really hungry tonight and Brett tried explaining the I'm "eating for 2" concept. He didn't pay much attention and just let me eat again. NOTE...Brett got another plate as well and wasn't questioned at all!! He just made me laugh so much and his quickness on noticing things.
Brett went back up to work at bath time and we got everything else finished up for the night and in to bed. We read a lot of books before he will actually go to bed, which is fine, and we are now telling stories to each other when we're done with books and the lights are out. He cracks me up and we both just got tickled with the nonsense we were making up tonight. I love these times!!!
What a funny kid.

Schaake's Pumpkin Patch
We have gone to Schaake's pumpkin patch since we've lived in Lawrence and I love that place! We went a couple weeks ago for our friends bday party, but we came back to do our family picking. Brett couldn't make it with us this year due to recruits still in town and working in general, but Aunt Amber, Uncle Brett, Granny, and Steph all came with Kaden and I so we could get mine, Brett's and the dogs a pumpkin! Kaden had to pick them out, although he was doing more of a photo shoot with Aunt Amber, and I got our pumpkins! We had a great time. First we always have to check how tall we are...
(look at last year and this year, so cute!)

Then we did the hayride out to the patch.
Next, we headed back in for the fun stuff. We have never done any of the other things b/c Kaden has been to little, but this year was just right. He saw the animals, played on the swing sets/slides, went through the haystack maze, put our faces in cut-outs, and even launched tiny pumpkins at targets with Uncle Brett!!! Here are some picts, Amber has tons more, she's better than me!
We had so much fun!

(sorry, lots of pictures and back to back posts...man I'm good!!)

Let's See..
Geez, it's been so long since I've posted and there has been lots going on. Let me try to get it all in here.
First we had to start breathing treatments about 2 weeks ago b/c Kaden started his normal cold and it always settles in his chest, so to be on top of things, we started him up on his normal routine. (every since he was 9 mths old we've done this!) It stinks b/c the poor little guy has to do 4 breathing treatments a day. 2 in the AM, and 2 at night. And let me tell you, these take up to 15 mins long or longer each to get through them. Now no big deal, unless your 2 1/2 years old and you really don't want to do that. Bless his heart though, he's REALLY good about it. He just sits and watches his morning cartoons and at night whatever he wants while it's going on. Then on top of those we have to take Zyrtec 2x day too.

On a good note, we got notice, since he's been doing pretty good, that we can cut the Zyrtec to once a day and only do the mask(breathing treatment) once a day with ONE med. Kaden's sooo excited. We get going on the mask and he tells me through it that he only has to do ONE mask, yippee!!! What a good kid.
Next, funny story (gotta keep track of these)....
So I went to lunch with my brother and sister a few weeks ago and Kaden was with us. While we were waiting for our food, we dig in my purse to see what toys I have in there to occupy the time. We find this mini Ariel (little mermaid) kaleidoscope that he got at one of his little girlfriends bday party and we continue to keep it, he enjoys it! So he looks at the picture of Ariel and points to it and says..."boobies", I look at him and started laughing so hard and said "what did you say", and he repeated, and I said..."well no, that's her swimming suite", he continued to tell me..."well yeah mom but she has boobies underneath it!!" I WAS SHOCKED, but LAUGHED so hard and asked my brother if he heard and he didn't, so sure enough Kaden repeated it and we just laughed and laughed. Not sure where he got this, but he's growing up!!!
I love my kid though, he says the funniest things now a days and the cutest things and I just want to bottle it up and/or need to start recording much more, but never have the cam-corder handy! I know there are so many funny things, but of course can't remember right now. He talks a lot about his baby brother now and tells me I am getting bigger, so baby brother is too. And when he comes out, he'll have to wear diapers, like when he was a baby, and....and it goes on...pacifiers, drinking a bottle, not riding his bike b/c he won't be big enough yet/but he'll share when he is, teach him MANY things when he gets bigger, that Cooper has to learn to stop barking b/c if not he'll wake the baby up when he's sleeping. Oh many, he just makes me smile EVERYDAY!!!
I am looking forward to my maternity leave for so many reasons, but to just be a mom for a while with my little ones is SOOO important to me and makes me so happy.

Next,
We went to our friend Cayman's 3rd bday party out at the pumpkin patch last weekend, and besides the freezing weather, we had a blast. Kaden got to pick his own pumpkin, was ECSTATIC that it was a fireman's themed party, which he's gonna have (well as of now) and got to whack the firetruck pinata and get candy!!! He had lots of fun. He was super cute picking out his present and got a big crane truck and a little monster truck with a dinosaur (dino as Kaden calls it) on it and was happy to keep it a secret. He kept telling me he can't tell Cayman b/c it's a "supise" mom, he has to open it on his bday. So when it came to that present, Kaden said..."that's from me, that's from me" he was proud!
We are going to try to go out to the pumpkin patch again this weekend with my family, b/c we ALWAYS do, since he's been born, and get the rest of our pumpkins!

Cross country is almost over, we have 3 more meets left, crazy. I'm glad in one way b/c it'll cut down on my "here, there and yonder" phase, and give me some sat's back, but then again I miss the kids, they are a lot of fun. I think this year has just been more tiring b/c of work, school, and prego along with coaching. They've done really good this year and I'm anxious to see how we turn out at League, Regionals and State these next 3 weekends.
School is great, I'm still doing really good (not to brag) on all my tests and projects, I'm sure they could be better, but I'm happy. I enjoy going over there and I like learning all this stuff. My textiles class is hard though to remember all the information on EVERY little piece of fabric and construction and hazards and advantages/disadvantages, but it's all worth it. I hope I continue to get better. Not sure what I'm going to do next semester since it'll start quickly after baby is born, we'll see.
Brett is SUPER busy right now. We have Late Night tonight and a lot of recruits in, so that's all overseen by him. All the new construction, which is AMAZING, is pretty much done, well better be by tonight, jk, has been a pain, but well worth it. Not to brag on him (but I am) Brett did almost ALL the help of designing and planning how everything's going to come together, furniture, art/design work, colors, etc...man, why isn't he helping me in my classes!!! But we got to walk through it last weekend when my dad was in town and it's AWESOME!! I can't wait to see the finishing touches. KU has a lot of state-of-the-art stuff now and it's pretty cool to see the newest stuff out!
He gets a little stressed out at the beginning of the season, and rightfully so, so I know he's exhausted already and it's only Oct. 16th! But he loves KU, loves working for Coach Self and can't wait to continue his journey. We really miss him during parts of the season though b/c of late nights, long days, and traveling. Which this year will be really hard until baby boy is born b/c I can't travel as much this first part. We'll get through it though :)
Ok, well enough for now, I'll post again soon. Still finishing up stuff in Kaden's bid boy room and getting ready to start the renovation of baby room soon, so I'll post when it's all finished!!!
Till next time.

New things!
So every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning we now have a new routine once we get to the gym, LAC.....we like to "work out". Yes, Kaden WANTS to workout a little bit before he goes to the daycare. See Aunt Steph started coming to the gym those days and is lifting just about the same time we are arriving, therefore, when we see her or we go find her, then it's time to workout!! I think it's hilarious and I love it. The kid enjoys exercise and it's a good thing since both his parents incorporate that on a daily basis. He cracks me up! Here's a preview....
Little walking on the treadmill...
Lat pull-down...
And some ab work....
Gotta love it!
This Sunday we had our Fall Kickoff at church, so after I did my nursery duty the 2nd service, Brett brought Kaden up for the 3rd service and he went to Sunday school while I went to church and then we were off outside for the "carnival". He had a blast!!! Although he has been kinda on the sick end for the last 4 or 5 days, he still enjoyed all of the activity and was a great sport. He ate lunch, played in the "little kids" moon walk, then went straight to the HUGE slide and didn't once get scared. We had to do that thing 3 times (once even with Aunt Steph), man that was a lot of ticket!!!(jk)

We also went in the "bigger kids" moon walk b/c Aunt Steph was working that one, and he had a blast. We did a little potty toss, ring toss on flamingos, ate a snow cone, watched and got a balloon from the balloon man, and finished it off with some face painting. That was our new adventure and he loved it! I think we're going to incorporate that into a bday party in the upcoming years, i love it.
If you can't tell, he's a pirate!!
Overall it was a productive day at church and he was exhausted and took a great nap, with face paint on and all. I was gone when he woke up, otherwise I would of loved to snap that photo to see how that turned out, but Brett washed it off pretty quick.
Things went well overall this weekend and I hate that they go so quickly, especially since all of sat is mostly taken by c.c. right now, then I work really hard to get all my projects for school done too. I just cant wait for my full days with my family, I cherish them, even if there's 100 things to do!
Oh, other exciting news is that Steph got a new job. She is now the Adidas rep for KU(don't ask me exactly what she'll be doing, not sure on that)!!! Soooo excited for her though. It's something new and different with lots of fun perks. It's kinda bitter sweet for her I'm sure b/c all she's known is KUStore.com. She started that from ground zero, literally. There was no KUStore until Steph started it, but time to move on, and we're thrilled for her! Now she can actually go to events and not have to be working them, that'll be new for her! YEAH Steph, congrats on the job!
That's it for now, long enough...till next time!! Till next time...
