Full weekend!!

Well we had another full weekend. Some sadness, lots of fun and very busy.

Friday night we went to a little bbq at some friends of ours and got to swim, eat, and listen to music, plus Kaden is good buddies with all the little ones their from daycare, so he was pumped. We had a great time and so glad we got to do that.

Sat. started out with just stuff around the house and getting things in place, and then we had to head to a funeral for my co-workers husband that passed on the 4th of July with his battle with cancer. So needless to say, it was a very emotional afternoon, but lots of life celebration from their family. The service was very nice and I think a lot of closure came to the family. Rick is now in a MUCH better place and in NO pain at all, which he was in a lot of towards the end. So I know Julie and their 11 yr. old son, Marty, have that held in their hearts that he's so peacful now.
Brett T. and Amber came and watched Kaden so we could go, and then we got home and Brett & Brett went and played Tiger Woods Wii for hours, I took a nap! Got up and hung out with Kaden for a while and then went and ate dinner with Steph, mom and Brett T. while my Brett went with the coaches to a grand opening of a Salty Iguana restaraunt in Olathe. We had a nice dinner and then hung out at granny's for a bit before heading home.

Sunday rolled around and Kaden had been WAITING all week for it b/c we were "stealing" Raelynn Keefer from her parents to take her out for the day. We missed her 4th bday b/c we were at the lake for the 4th of July, so this was our present to her. So after church we got Raelynn, and headed on our adventures! Brett, Brett and Steph went and played golf and the most exciting thing of their day was that Brett T. got a HOLE IN ONE!!! He's never done it before, and claims he probably never would, but he was PUMPED when he told me. Steph and Brett both called me too and they were in awe of the amazing shot, so they had a great day!!

Our adventures started with the first stop at the $1 store and they each got to pick 3 things out...that was interesting, but I said whatever you want! After some books, candy, truck, marker, and a journal were purchased, we were out!

Then we headed to McDonald's for lunch and play. They both picked out their lunches and then ate very good before taking shoes off and heading to the playland. Kaden was just trying to keep up with her through the tubes, but you can tell Raelynn is a great big sister, b/c she'd wait for him and help him along. So they played for almost an hr. in there and got all nice and sweaty!

We then headed to a "big park" at an elementary school and they had tons of fun there too. It was beautiful outside, so it made it a nice day to stay out. They were very active on the playground until Kaden had to "go poo-poo" so we had to pack up and head home for a bit to let that happen. But it was good, they got a little break and played in the basement for a while, before we headed to our last stop!!!

Raelynn was so funny b/c she just wanted to know what was next after each thing. I told Kaden the last thing b/c he loves it, but told him not to tell, and to my amazement, he didnt tell!!! So we got in the car and got to Tad's shaved ice!!! Snow cones! Kaden LOVES these, and Raelynn told me that her mommy never takes her there, but she'd probably like it. So we got to the window and I was trying to explain all the 800 flavors they have to her and we came to the result of Banana Colada for Kaden and Strawberry Colada for Raelynn. It was great, they shared, loved it and wanted another after we were done, but I opted not for that one.

We then headed back to the Keefer house to drop Raelynn off and Kaden was pretty upset he had to let her go, but definately crashed once we got home for his nap.
So it was a great day for me, lots of running around, but SOOO much fun to see little friends interact and have so much fun and kept us all busy for a good part of the day!

Yesterday we picked up Kaden's Big Boy Bed and the rest of the furniture, so he was excited for that, but we will get it all set up after we get back from vacation, plus we still have to buy a box spring and matress, but he's ready! And he's already told me I need to paint his new bedroom KU blue so he'll be cool. So we'll work on that as well.
We also purchased a new back pack for him for our trips, and this one has Diego on it and it has wheels so he can carry his own luggage around the airport from now on!!! He loves it though and has already packed it for Destin. We leave in 4 days!!!! We can REALLY NOT WAIT! Kaden wants the airplane to be here now so we can get there, and honestly...I do too, but we'll have to wait till Sat. So we are saying the days of the week each morning and night to count down and he's got it! Now we just have to keep telling him that, or he'll repeat that he wants to go now over and over again! So we are excited for that and really cant wait. We'll be with my dad's side of the family and are going to have so much fun. The only thing we'll miss is my cousin Taylor, b/c as Kaden tells me..."Tawor has a "big" baby in her tummy, so she can't come, and mommy only has a little baby in her tummy, so you can go mommy!" So yes, Taylor is due end of Aug/beginning of Sept, so her and Josh can't make this trip and will be much missed but we can't wait to meet their little girl soon too!
So I'll proabaly not post till after our Florida trip, but take care everyone and keep us in your thoughts for safe travels!
