Recap

Holy Hot Sauce...Time once again has slipped away....
For a recap of the last few months....

The summer went like this: Kaden did TU basketball camp, KU basketball camp all week, lots of swimming, summer basketball league, visits from LOTS of people (grandparents, Lacy/Julian, Aunts & cousins) and we had fun with them all. Brooks did parent/child TU camp for the first time and did AMAZING! He is truly skilled and is obsessed still with bball!! Go figure. He also had fun in July with all our visitors and it kept us busy while dad was away the whole month. He did swim lessons at the end of June before our vacation and graduated in 2 weeks and was the youngest, he did AWESOME and was so proud of himself which was good to see as well.
4th of July was awesome once again out at the lake and it's one of my favorite times of the year and love spending time with that family. Brett, Amber, and Jaris got to come this year as well and it was GREAT having everyone out there!!! After that Brett was gone recruiting the mth of July so we missed him a lot, but got through it with visitors and projects here and there.
We went to Destin, FL for vacation with 28 of us as a HUGE family vacay. It was grams idea and she treated us to the condos, so all cousins and aunt was there with all their kiddos, and then Amber's family came as well. It was so much fun and everyone had a blast. We got to kayak and paddle board, jet ski and see dolphins, went to the Track and had fun with go-carts and games, lots of sun and back and forth from pool to beach!!! Breagan did amazing and had just as much fun I think!!!

Kaden started 1st grade 2 days ago and is such a strong, confident little boy! He is in Mrs. Atkins class and we are THRILLED!! They started at their BRAND NEW school, Creekwood as well. I am so thankful for him and all he is, he makes me a better person as well. His goal for this year is to learn to read level 1 &2 books ALL by himself!!! He will start flag football soon as well.

Brooks will start 2 day preschool again after Labor Day and he is excited as well. I think he will have fun and learn so much more this year! He is as ornery as ever but so funny and creative! His goal for the year is to learn how to write his name. He knows how to spell it but can't write it yet.
I think my favorite thing is going to be setting goals at the beginning of each year now and the kids came up with them ALL on their own, so it might get funny/creative/unrealistic, but we are going with it!!!

Breagan is now 7mths and growing like a weed. She got baptized at Lawrence Free Methodist church on June 16th, Father's Day!!! It was a blessing to have Pastor Bump baptize her like he did for all the kids. We couldn't be more blessed to have the family we have made and to celebrate it in God's eyes, with as many family members that could attend, was such a treat. At 6mths she could sit by herself and is  now trying her darndest to crawl, but is rolling to where she needs to for now. She had her check up as was weighing in at 16.75 lbs and 23". Little on the short and pudgy side, but we LOVE it that way. She has officially said "mama" right before 7 mths and it's the cutest thing! I did not work with her on it AT ALL, she completely started saying it at Kaden's meet the teacher night and Brett even heard it at home to attest to it!!! She is loving life, doing great, sleeping awesome but I think we are in transition of some teeth b/c night sleeps are getting disrupted a little and I'm going to assume teeth! She has tried all the baby food now, and doesn't seem to push anything away! Loves her "puffies" and even started some water in a sippy cup. She hasnt' quite figured it out yet, but learning. She LOVES her johnny jumper and it cracks us all up to watch her use her legs to get as high as she can!!

I am still involved with PTA at Creekwood and I have a feeling it will be a bigger task this year, but am excited and thankful to meet new people and have fun. I am once again the 2/3rd VP and in charge of spirit days/nights and spirit wear, but we all have many hats and help with tons!

Brett is going on year 2 at Tulsa and we are excited to see all the improvement and new kids in action soon. They have been recruiting hard and working hard and I know it will all pay off. I can't believe it's been over a year since we've lived here, doesn't seem like it, but it's been great and I know we will continue to enjoy Broken Arrow!!!
