Curious George

So this past Sunday Kaden and I went with Steph to Curious George and brought along Kenzie with us. Chaunsea(Kenzie's mom) was supposed to go but got sick and I convinced Steph to go instead. I told Kaden earlier in the week that if he was good and after church on Sunday, he would be getting a surprise. So everyday he asked if it was Sunday yet and made sure to tell me he'd been good.
Sunday rolled around and we were heading out to church and while in the car, he was sooo excited b/c he knew Kenzie was going with us, and he was getting something. I explained it wasn't a toy, he didn't quite understand that, but knew he was going somewhere for something fun.
We were on our way to get Kenzie after church and I told him what his surprise was and he started smiling ear to ear. He was pumped! We've been reading more and more Curious George books and he has a Curious George monkey he plays with sometimes too, so he was excited. We got Kenzie and stopped at McDonald's on our way to the Sprint Center for some lunch. He was pretty excited about that as well!! We got there and we looked at the "toy" stuff, and I always want to get him something, but know it'll just sit in his toy bin as soon as we get home, so unless there's a movie or book or something, I don't buy the "junk", so instead he got some popcorn, which he was just as thrilled about, and Kenzie got cotton candy!
We got there right in time to not have to wait a long time for it to start. We were on the floor about 7 rows back and the kids were excited to see the show. It was a cute show about a chef and Curious George helping him make famous meatballs, so we talked about that a lot for the days after. Kenzie fell asleep in my lap with about 10 mins left in the show, it was RIGHT at nap time. She woke up as we were putting her in the car, and as soon as we were on the highway, Kaden was out and slept the whole way home and then another hour or so after we got home.
It was a fun filled day and I always enjoy taking him to that stuff!
