Easter

Sorry it's taken so long, but like always...busy! We started last weekend off with our normal friday swim lesson before we headed out to Hutch. This time daddy got to get in the water with Kaden! (it would take me 3x the amount of time to clean up and leave than it would Brett...that's what I convinced him of) They had a great time playing before the lesson, jumping off the side to dad, splashing around...then came lesson time and it's harder than you think to actually help teach him the right things. Miss Claudine does so well with us rookies and all you want to do is grab your child if he isnt coming up or coughing, but no no no, thats not exactly what you do. Nevertheless, Brett did good with Kaden.

We were then headed out to Hutchinson and had a great ride out there. Thanks to my great "After Thanksgiving Sale" purchase of headrest DVD players! Kaden did great and we got in around 10:30. Next morning Katie, Dain, Bailey and Kale were headed out there and supposed to be in around noon, so I decided to start my cake baking for Kale's family bday he was having out there with all of us. I got to make the infamous SpiderMan cake....

It turned out pretty good I think, and I was so excited for Kale to see it. They got in just after noon and I was waiting for Dain to get there b/c we have our 1/2 marathon this weekend and we both had to run long that weekend. So they got settled and off we went for our 8(ish) mile run. It was sooo nice outside and we had a great run. It's always nice to have a partner for long distance. We got back, Kale got to see his cake, but we were taking it out to Haviland the next day to celebrate with all that family, so cake eating was suspended. We went and ate dinner and hung out with Brett's grandad and Sharon, which was really nice. They are doing great and are so fun to talk to. We had an early Easter Egg hunt at Brett's parents for the boys, and that was a blast too. Kale was really good at telling Kaden where some eggs were and sharing them all, such a nice cousin.

That night poor little Bailey was having some teeth problems and wasnt sleeping or anything, pretty fussy I guess, so while Brett and I were gone visiting Bryce and Jessica, Katie, Dain and the kids packed up and headed back to Lawrence at like 12:30. Brett got home later in the night to tell me and all I could think of was how devistated Kaden would be when he woke up and Kale wasnt there. (also concerned for Bailey of course!) And sure enough Kaden woke up bright and early and the first thing out of his mouth was "I go play with Kale", and so we explained, lots of tears shed, but he wanted to make sure Bailey wasnt sick anymore. Pretty sad really. So we got together, went to a local church, saw Brett's aunt and cousin there, which was nice, and then headed out to Haviland right after. It was really crummy weather, so the drive was not great, raining pretty hard off and on, but we made it. Before we left Kaden was playing around with Grandma's Easter Bunny Ears....

We got to see lots of cousins, aunts/uncles and great grandma and grandpa Ballard. They are always so cute and fun to be around. We had a great time, Kaden was so much fun watching and playing with everyone (lots of football with Morgan) and we got to do another Easter Egg Hunt, so he was pumped. (had to be inside b/c of weather)

Barb and Larry trucked the Spiderman cake to Haviland and it stayed in tact, and then we trucked it on our 4 hr ride home so Kale could enjoy it at least. We still have to get it to their house, tonight I think, so hopefully he'll still like it. On our way home, about an hour and half into the 4 hr ride, Kaden got sick and started throwing up everywhere, still watching his dvd, but throwing up everyhwhere and crying. So I had one leg in my front seat, one over the console and trying to catch it all in his blankie so it wouldnt soak into the carseat and him. Brett got us pulled over to a gas staion and it was still raining, but we cleaned it all up, got him new clothes on, and were headed home once again. Besides the terrible smell the rest of the way, I just kept thinking, please Spiderman, dont tip over or get smooshed by anything before we get home. And he didnt! We got home around 11:50pm, yeah we started around 7:15, oh well. So that was our weekend, we had tons of fun and its always nice to get out to western Kansas to see family. We had swimming and the basketball banquet monday night, I had to finish up my semester product file report, an evaluation on a showroom and study for our test today. I just took the online test, and we'll find out how we did when we go to class, which I'm headed to in about an hr. (I didnt go to work this morning so I could get all that done) And I think we get to finally get "Spidy" to Kale tonight, yeah!!! As for the rest of the week....KU Relays are going on, so I have some former c.c. girls in college now running in it and they've asked me to come watch and a good high school friend that coaches at Sterling that is bringing his team here too, so I'll get to meet up with all of them hopefully. I hope the weather stays decent at least. Then sat. we have swim lessons and cleaning the house, and some errands. Sunday, 1/2 marathon (steph is running the 10K!!) and then a bday party for Kaden's friend at a gymnastics place. I'm excited to see Kaden run around that place!!
Thats all for now. Hope all is well and everyone had a great Easter. Take care!!
