Destin 2009

So Destin, FL.....Everyone needs to go there! It's so awesome, so relaxing and soooo pretty there. We had a great time. If you've read Amber's blog already, she has it in a nut-shell, but I'll give you some info too.

We all got there on sat and left sat, so 7 days of GREAT stuff. My grandparents, in their 80's(almost..gram), flew along with all of us Kansas folks and the Texas people drove. Kaden is an AWESOME traveler, never really had a chance not to be b/c he's been on a plane since he was born, all the time for bball trips, so he was great!

We headed to the beach as soon as we could the next day since we got in later on sat. Got some sun, and the days consisted of waking up, working out(occasionally), getting breakfast and getting ready for the beach. Our condo was right on the beach and sooo convenient to other amenities. So we'd go down to beach/pool, head up for lunch, one would stay with Kaden for nap time, head back down, all day, then Kaden would come back down and then we'd be back in the condo's for dinner time and the rest of the night. The guys and Steph golfed a couple times, we shopped, got a Coach purse-yikes!, went out to eat a couple nights, and also went to this Race Track park across from our condo's and had a blast with the kids. We didn't attempt putt-putt with the little ones, but did all the little carnival type rides with the kids and then some of the big kids and my dad did a big go-kart race track, it was a blast and funny b/c we used to do this Race Track park when we were younger and would be down there.

Kaden wasn't scared of any of the rides and wanted to do them all. I took him over to see if he was tall enough for one ride and it was hilarious b/c he went right over to the chart and started standing on his tippy toes just so he'd make sure he was over 3ft. tall, no one told him to do it, but it made us all laugh.

We also got some family pictures done by Amber for the KU Media guide this year, and they turned out GREAT, although still prego looking in all the pictures, I'll post a few(ha ha)of all our pictures here.

The beaches are awesome and the water was great every day. Gram and Pop were great sports and Papa even went out with us one day to "ride the waves". A few of us took him out there, helped him get to some good ones and he was off!!! It was great and even brought tears to Grams eyes! Kaden liked playing in the sand, a few times would go out in the ocean with us, but was more a fan of the pool, but did great regardless!

We can't wait till next year and we're trying to get Brett's family to go with us, I've already talked to Katie and Dain and they sounded excited, so now we have to convince Grandma and Grandpa Ballard. It's so much fun!!

I know there are so many funny stories, so many memories and so much to write about, but this post would go on forever, so there's the gist and here are some picts!

We also had fun dancing...well watching the kids dance and sing a couple nights!!

Here's a couple other videos from the amusement park:

And one in the sand:

Oh....here are a couple of the family pictures by Amber!
