We had such a WONDERFUL Christmas with our family this year. All my Texas family came up to Lawrence this year and it was really fun. We did Christmas Eve with my mom like usual and had a GREAT Christmas Eve service followed by a scrumptious dinner at moms, opening presents and hanging out having fun! Earlier in the day Kaden went to hang out with Granny and they made their cookies to leave for Santa, Kaden enjoys doing that with Granny each year!
We read Night Before Christmas to Kaden before he dreamt away waiting for Santa and in the morning, my dad, sister and mom came over before the boys headed downstairs to see their presents. It was awesome seeing how excited Kaden was this year! Brooks has no clue and could have cared less, but he was all smiles as well, watching and playing with whatever came his way.
Kaden got a Cobra bike from Santa and was WAY excited about it. Even though it was only about 20 some degrees outside and around 8AM, we headed out to let him try it out in the culd-a-sac and he was a pro as soon as he got on!!
Brooks got a little boy kitchen, emphasize the boy part, and was happy opening and shutting the doors and playing with the utensils!
After all of that excitement, we headed to my grandma and papa's house to all the rest of the family. The other kids were patiently waiting till after breakfast and all to open gifts and then all hands on board when the papers and bags went flying as they ran through all the rest of the presents. We are a very blessed family and the kids are even a little spoiled, in a good way, to get as much as they get. We had lots of fun and even did our older cousin white elephant exchange and had fun stealing from others with that! (The girls were better at stealing than the boys for sure!)

Bike Time....
The rest of the day and night was just spent with all our family and I couldn't have asked for
anything more!
Side note: We got to see my best friend Meghan, her hubby, and her sweet little MaKenna, aka-Brooks' future girlfriend!! So sweet and I was SOO glad to see them while they were back in town!
Our New Years was spent in Columbia, MO!!! YIPEE...NOT!
The previous Baker coach had scheduled a tournament there on the 31st and 1st for this year, and it's exactly what we wanted to do!! (jk) So the boys and I headed to Columbia that Friday and made it in about 2 1/2 hrs ready for the game that night. Brett's parents and uncle drove up too, so afterwards we saw Brett for a bit and went to eat with the Ballards. We had a wing-ding of a time in the hotel that night with all the noise and me trying to get a sleep baby down, so I was in my room with the boys for the NYC ball drop, then I was out. Brett came in sometime after that, said our "Happy New Years" and off I was asleep till 2AM, 3AM, 4AM, 5AM, and finally 6AM with Brett and I swapping arms to hold Brooks. Let me tell you how fun that was! I'm pretty sure he had an ear infection...always happens...so he was not a happy camper.
Next day was a long one b/c the game wasn't till 8pm, so we went to shoot around at the University of Missouri with the guys to waste time...man I dont' like that place, although they did have a nice facility. The Baker boys thought it was pretty cool and it was fun to watch Brett in action during practice as well. Kaden and Brooks had fun running around the sidelines bouncing balls and climbing on stuff, so it was a good time consumer! Then we fiddle around town, at the mall, and let the kids play a little before eating again and heading to the game.
(Brett did wear his RED AND BLUE ties both games.....sorta HAVE to in Columbia!, GO KU!)
